Accreditation for Cardiac CT
Please find posted on the BSCI website an update to the accreditation document formulated by the BSCI under the guidance of Dr Carl Roobottom and a sub-committee of Executive.
Application forms are also available for download and submission.
This document has been submitted to the Royal College of Radiologists and it is hoped it will answer many of the e-mails that we are receiving regarding accreditation of cardiac CT within the UK. This process led by the BSCI is voluntary and not mandatory.
Its purpose is not to place barriers to the development of cardiac CT scanning within the UK but more to maintain the high standards that we as Radiologists and Cardiologists would expect for our patients.
The mechanism for applying for accreditation is explained at the end of the document.
I would like to thank Carl and the Sub-Committee for putting together such a helpful document.
Yours sincerely
Roger W Bury
